Custom Rules and Logic for Logistics Orders

Turn the way your operation works into automated order logic.

What are custom rules and logic?

Custom rules and logic allow Logichainge to derive information that your operational systems require, even when that information is not explicitly stated in the incoming order.

The rules use data already available during order processing to determine additional values automatically. For example, whether a shipment is domestic or international can determine an internal shipment code, while the shipment type, destination and presence of a price can determine which service should be assigned.

Custom logic = your company's operational rules applied automatically to order data.

What can custom rules determine?

Shipment codes

Determine internal shipment classifications from information already available in the order.

Automatic codes

Automatically determine the required internal codes based on shipment type, price, country or a combination of conditions.

Derived system values

Create values required by your TMS or other operational systems without requiring the sender to provide those values themselves.

For example,

Netherlands → Netherlands
= DOM

Netherlands → Germany
= EXP

Germany → Netherlands

= IMP

For example,

13+ ldm and price is present
= FTL service

 'mit hebebühne' in order

= LIFT service

Switzerland → Netherlands

= CUSTOMS

For example,

London → Sheffield
= currency is GBP

 'sovrapponibile' in order

= include stackability in ldm and pp calculation

Why do logistics operations need custom logic?

The data required by your digital environment is often different from the data a customer actually sends. Internal shipment classifications, service codes and other operational values may need to be determined based on several pieces of information in the order.

These decisions are often already well understood by operations teams, but traditionally rely on employees knowing which rule applies in each situation. That makes the process harder to automate and creates room for inconsistent decisions.

Logichainge turns this operational knowledge into automated logic so the same rule is applied consistently whenever the relevant conditions occur.

What does custom logic improve?

More complete order data

Add values your operational systems require even when they are not present in the original order.

Less manual decision-making

Automatically handle repetitive operational decisions that employees would otherwise make for every order.

Consistent processing

Apply the same logic every time the same conditions occur.

TMS-ready output

Deliver orders with the internal codes, classifications and service values your systems expect.

Custom rules bridge the gap between the information your customer sends and the information your operation actually needs.
